Kezzler AS (Norway), leading solution provider of barcoding, serialization and Track & Trace technologies to the Indian pharma industry, will be holding  two seminars  on the new DGFT ruling for barcoding and serializing export pharma products. The first seminar will be held at the J W Marriott Hotel in Mumbai on March 7 and the second in Ahmedabad on March 9.

The topics being  covered in these seminars include a review of the DGFT ruling and its implications for exporters, implementation procedures to comply with the ruling, global authentication strategies to reduce counterfeiting, a review of Track & Trace – what is it and how will it work, and a discussion of the e-pedigree programme.

Thus Kezzler will be presenting  a total technology solution for compliance with the DGFT ruling and building a Track & Trace system. The  attendance is limited to four  persons from each company.

The seminars are timely because the recent public notice from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) will require Indian pharmaceutical companies to barcode and serialize their export products effective July1, 2011.

Application of 2D barcodes and unique product serialization will also provide the essential platform for future implementation of a Track & Trace regime, which is widely acclaimed to be the most effective means for combating counterfeits. Indian pharma exports will be harmonized with a global solution based on GS1 standards, thereby protecting an important industry and enhancing the country’s image.
